Food Fuel for Fussy Kids


It can be really frustrating and worrying when your kids refuse to eat certain foods, but don’t panic, the majority of children go through picky eating phases. There are many ways we can encourage them to try new things and making food fun is one of them.


Battling with your child and trying to force them to eat is counterproductive. Instead try some of these tips;


  1. Make meal times fun. This especially works well for younger children. You can make healthier meals such as breakfast pancakes and decorate them with fruit; make teddy bear faces using sliced bananas for the ears and mouth and use blueberries for the nose and eyes or make caterpillars from grapes on skewers and use a tiny drop of icing for eyes. For lunch make healthy filled sandwiches using wholemeal bread and use fun shaped cookie cutters to make them into aeroplanes or animal shapes.
