This is a really delicious dish and one I had never heard of until my sister mentioned it to me. Now it’s everywhere. So here’s my healthy version of this wonderful Japanese dish, it’s simple, delicious and very easy to make.
Serves 2-4
Ingredients
1 Onion Finely Chopped or Equivalent in Frozen
1 Chicken or Vegetable Stock Pot
500ml Boiling Water
1 Teaspoon Ground Ginger
2 Cloves Garlic Finely Chopped
1 Tablespoon Medium Curry Powder
1 Tablespoon Soy Sauce
2 Teaspoons Honey
Method
Fry the onion in a non stick pan. Meanwhile melt the stock pot into 500ml Boiling Water.
Add the stock to the onions and stir in the ginger, garlic, curry powder, soy sauce and honey. Stir and simmer until sauce has reduced and is thickened and glossy.
Perfect with cooked chicken or tofu or just with your favourite veg, simply stir in the sauce and serve with rice or noodles.
