This delicious porridge bread is delicious on its own or served with soup, a cooked breakfast or as a sweet treat topped with sugar free jam and light aerosol cream. It is quick and easy to make and can also be made gluten free.
Ingredients
280g Porridge Oats/Gluten Free Porridge Oats
250g Quark
250ml Water
2 Teaspoons Bicarbonate of Soda
Pinch of Salt
Method:
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees/gas mark 4. Place the porridge oats and quark into a bowl along with the water, bicarbonate of soda and salt and mix well. Spoon the mixture into a lined loaf tin and bake for 40 mins. Remove from the oven and carefully turn the bread upside down in the loaf tin, return to the oven for a further 10 minutes. Once cooked cool on a wire rack and serve. Store bread in an airtight container or wrapped in cling film at room temperature.
