The Perfect Pizza Base



This recipe uses just 3 ingredients to make a perfect base for your favourite toppings. It’s so easy to make and tastes delicious and is ready in no time, you will neveg order a takeaway one again. Best of all by using Greek style yogurt you will also be adding to the good bacteria in the gut. one for the whole family to enjoy.

Ingredients


For a large pizza


150g Self Raising Flour

150g Greek Style Yogurt

1 Teaspoon Baking Powder


For a medium pizza


100g Self Raising Flour

100g Greek Style Yogurt

1 Teaspoon Baking Powder


For a small Pizza


75g Self Raising Flour

75g Greek Style Yogurt

1/2 Teaspoon Baking Powder


For Gluten Free


Replace Flour with Gluten Free Self Raising Flour mixed with teaspoon xanthan gum


Basic Topping

Tomato Puree

Mozzarella Cheese

1 Teaspoon Oregano

1 Teaspoon Garlic Granules


Method


preheat oven 180 degrees/gas mark 4


Mix the flour and baking powder together and stir in the yogurt using a dinner knife until it all comes together. Flour your work surface and toss the dough in the flour. Next flour your hands and rolling pin and gently roll out your base.


Cook in the oven for 8 minutes.


Remove from the oven and cover base with tomato purée and your choice of toppings and mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle with a teaspoon of oregano and a teaspoon of garlic granules.

Return to the oven for a further 8-10 minutes or until cheese had melted.


Optional Tip


Sprinkle edge with dry semolina when adding topping for an authentic takeaway taste.
