This really is a pretty remarkable healthy take on Doner kebab meat, which is usually quite high in fat, as much as 31.4g of fat per 100g. Using extra lean turkey mince at only 1.1g fat per 100g not only substantially reduces the calories per portion but it has hardly any fat at all. The spices in this dish give it an authentic kebab taste and is a definite must for an healthy alternative of a popular takeaway dish. The meat can also be sliced and frozen to use another day.
Ingredients
500g Extra Lean Turkey Mince
½ Teaspoon Onion Granules
½ Teaspoon Smoked Paprika
1 Teaspoon Ground Cumin
1 Teaspoon Ground Coriander
½ Teaspoon Salt
½ Teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
1 Beef Stock Pot
2 Cloves Garlic
Method
Put the mince into a blender or food processor. If you haven’t got a blender or food processor you can do it by hand in a bowl.
Add the onion granules, paprika, cumin, coriander, salt, pepper, beef stock pot and garlic and blend until fully combined. If making by hand crush or very finely dice the garlic before adding.
Cook in a preheated oven at 180 for 30-40 minutes or until cooked through.
Thinly slice lengthways and build your kebab.
You can retry the meat to reheat it and it can also be frozen to use at a later date.
