Whole Grain Seeded Gut Friendly Bread

Updated: Mar 15, 2022

This has to be one of the easiest bread recipes I’ve ever made. Using Greek Style Fat Free Yogurt helps feed the friendly bacteria in the gut making it easier to digest and the the whole grain flour makes it a good source of fibre. The additional of seeds also adds more protein plus extra depth in flavour. Made from every day shop bought ingredients, this bread can be ready to eat within an hour!

Ingredients

250g Whole Grain Flour

250g Soda Bread Flour

1 Teaspoon Baking Powder

500g Greek Style Yogurt

Pinch of Salt

30g Mixed Seeds or Chia Seeds or your preferred choice.

Method

Preheat the oven to 200 Degrees. Mix the two flours, baking powder and salt in a large bowl.

Next make a well in the centre and pour in the yogurt. Stir together using a knife or metal spoon until fully combined.

Turn our onto a floured surface, dust the top of the bread and gently toss in the flour to form an oval shape. Use a knife you gently push a line across the length and diameter to form a cross.

Top with seeds very gently pushing them into the top of the bread.

Bake for 35 Minutes.

Once cooked place on a wire rack until completely cooled.

You can easily get 20 slices which would be around 90 calories depending on the seeds used.
